UNAPPROVED REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

Chairman D. Tolchinski called the meeting to order at 7:34 pm.  
Visiting Guest: Gary Pope.  Members present were Chairman D. Tolchinski, Secretary- Treasurer L. Grogan and Members R. Breunig, G. James, M. Roberts,
   L. Russo,   Alternate Member present A. Lombard.  Absent Excused Member
    D. Redfield. Also present were B. Curtis WPCA   Engineer, N. Dubicki WPCA
   Attorney, R. Rose WPCA Town Sanitarian.
   Keith Czarnecki was absent.

Chairman Tolchinski opened the meeting by wishing Merv Roberts all the best on his 90th Birthday and thanking him for all his work on the WPCA and his dedication and commitment to the town of Old Lyme.  

Aimee Eberly has resigned her position on the WPCA.  

Andrea Lombard was asked and accepted as a voting member of the WPCA.

Chairman Tolchinski asked for a motion to approve the May 17, 2012 minutes. Minutes were approved by Louis Russo and seconded by Merv Roberts.  Minutes were unanimously approved.

Brian Curtis presented documentation detailing a work scope to conduct a management study in the Sound View, Miami Beach and Hawks Nest communities.  Results will be documented and presented at the July 22, 2012 meeting to be held at Miami Beach.  Members will vote to accept or decline the proposal presented.

     Members presented questions.
    
      It was also noted and  mentioned the WPCA isn’t in the position to answer or resolve
     all the questions until the issues are known.

   Andrea Lombard asked if members of the WPCA could come to Old Colony Beach      Association meeting this Saturday June 23, 2012 and speak/answer and/or present the WPCA’s view on the sewer issue.  Members stated there isn’t enough time to prepare for it.
  

Andrea made a motion stating:  This commission with support of our selectwoman extend itself to Old Colony Beach Association and have a presence at their Saturday, June 23rd Semi Annual Meeting for the following purposes:

  • 2  -


  • Share lessons learned within our own and neighboring communities
  • List options
  • List implications of moving forward with WPCA /sewers
  • Request time to gather more information before forming another WPCA is voted on
Motion passed.  Adding if possible Members would try to be visible at the June 23rd meeting. Also ask Bonnie to meet with Old Colony to discuss the issue, if Bonnie had the time.


Mr. Pope, presented a possible program on disposal for middle school children to give them and understanding of the process.

A motion to adjourn was made by L. Russo, seconded by M. Roberts.  The motion passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 9:50 pm.
